Consumer and Business Services

Postcode Address File (PAF) processing

There are 26.5 million addresses held on the Postcode Address File (PAF), the source of UK postcodes, and this file is constantly changing. Mailsort discounts depend on having the correct address and postcode data for your customers. If you do not regularly cleanse your data against PAF, you are probably spending more than you need on mailings.

  • Improve accuracy of mailings and provide addressee in a consistent format.

  • Verify and correct historical address records and turn them into usable data.

  • Reliable database analysis becomes possible with accurate address records thus maximising the potential of bulk mail discounts.

Telephone Number Verification and Appending

MOC have access to the most up to date listing of residential and business telephone numbers in the UK. This service can be used to verify or append a telephone number to an address, compensating for missing, mis-keyed or out of date records.

'MOC Launderette' teleappend service can also identify households with ex-directory numbers, and provide and increase of up to 5% on telephone append results through the use of none directory information. As the file now covers over 90% of UK households, this data source can also be used to verify name and address combinations.

If you are involved in telephone contact with your clients then 'MOC Launderette' Teleappend offers a low cost way to find and verify telephone numbers.

Telephone Preference Service (TPS) processing

A database containing details of over one million subscribers who object to sales, or marketing based telephone calls. Under an act of law, calling anyone registered on TPS will result in a fine of £5,000 regardless of whether these people are your customers. 'MOC Launderette' can identify TPS subscribers before you make the call.

Mailing Preference Service (MPS) processing

Over 600,000 people and small businesses have registered not to receive targeted direct mail with the Mailing Preference Service. 'MOC Launderette' provides the lowest possible price point for MPS screening and can identify these people before you mail them, at the very least saving you the cost of a stamp.

Fax Preference Service (FPS) processing

The Fax Preference Service database already contains details of over a half a million subscribers who object to sales or marketing based faxes. Faxing anyone registered for this service can result in a fine of up to £5,000 regardless of whether you're communicating to customers.

Consumer Services

National Change of Address (NCOA) processing

Recruiting each new customer incurs high costs in marketing and administration. And yet every year many of these customers are written of as 'Gone Aways'. There are already 8.1 million people on the NCOA database and this is growing by 1.2 million every year. 'MOC Launderette' can find many of these lost customers by using the Royal Mail's National Change of Address (NCOA) database.

Electoral Roll processing

The Electoral Roll is the largest name and address data asset in the UK, with some 46 million adults residing at around 24 million households in the UK.

MOC Launderette brings you the entire roll for cleaning and verifying against your existing lists and prospecting for new customers. The roll, containing full name and address data for all registered voters over the age of 18 is delivered at the same low-level price points as our other offerings.

Gone Away processing

Mailing to gone aways encourages fraud and substantially increases the risk of bad debt. The Gone Away Suppression file is a key source of information regarding home movers in the UK and consists of over 12 million records updates every quarter.

  • 6.4% of the population move house each year-over 9,000 people each day.

McCarthy O'Connor's data provision service provides an additional source for gone away screening, which is only commercially available to users of MOC Launderette.

Bereavement Suppression

Mailing the deceased is the largest source of complaints reported to the Information Commissioner. In the UK, over 700,000 people die each year-more than 1,500 people every day. MOC Launderette combines all commercially available sources with unique data to achieve maximum accuracy in this sensitive area.

Duplicate detection

Research has shown that 70% of customers state that getting duplicate mail annoys them intensely. Unlike many other offerings, MOC Launderette will detect and flag duplicates in your data at three different levels of granularity.

At the lowest level, it will detect and flag duplicate individuals, at the second level it will flag matches where it finds two or more records for the same family group (at the same address). Finally, at level three, it will flag households, where individuals, not necessarily with the same family name, share an address.

  • Significantly lowers the likelihood of the same message being sent multiple times to an individual.

  • When used in conjunction with your existing customer database, it can prevent recruitment offers being made to existing customers.

Population profiling

MOC Launderette now brings the entire MOSAIC profiler for enhancement of your existing lists and, when used in conjunction with the Electoral Roll, prospecting for new customers who exhibit the behaviours which you are interested in!

A wide range of relevant data variables are used to build this powerful targeting system including:

  • Gender, age and family status

  • Financial status, directorship and shareholdings

  • Housing type, size and ownership
